The Cooking Competition

Last Monday, Mrs Green’s class took part in a cooking competition. “You can cook anything you like,” she said, “but you must work in pairs.”

Lena and Emma decided to make fruit salad. “I’ll cut the bananas,” said Lena, “and you can wash the grapes.” They also used apples, oranges, and some strawberries.

Meanwhile, Ben and Leo made cheese sandwiches. “Let’s toast them!” said Ben. Leo smiled and put them under the grill.

When the food was ready, Mrs Green tasted each dish. “Everything looks and smells wonderful!” she said. She gave Lena and Emma first prize because their dish was healthy and colourful.
