Different Hats
This Pre A1 Listening Part 4 activity helps students know different hats by listening for their names, locations, and colours. Learners hear about a top hat on the bed, a sun hat on the shelf, and more. Afterwards, they write the correct colour for each one. Perfect for learners at a beginner level.

Listen and Write the Colours
You will hear a woman and boy talking about a picture with different hats.
Pre A1 Listening Part 4 (Transcript)
Look at the picture. Six different hats are in different places. Listen to the conversation. Write the colour and name of the hat below. There is one example. You will hear the conversation twice.
Example
Woman: Look at the hat on the chair near the window.
Boy: Oh yes, it’s green.
Woman: Yes, that’s the baseball cap.
Boy: A green baseball cap on the chair!
Question 1
Woman: Can you see the tall blue hat on the bed?
Boy: Yes, it’s in the middle of the bed.
Woman: That’s the top hat.
Boy: A blue top hat!
Question 2
Woman: What about the hat on the floor next to the bed?
Boy: It’s yellow!
Woman: That’s the hard hat.
Boy: A yellow hard hat next to the bed.
Question 3
Woman: Do you see the big orange hat on the shelf above the bed?
Boy: Yes, it’s really wide!
Woman: That’s the sun hat.
Boy: An orange sun hat!
Question 4
Woman: Now look at the red hat on the table next to the duck.
Boy: Yes!
Woman: That’s the woolly hat.
Boy: A red woolly hat!

Woman: Can you find the brown hat on the door?
Boy: Yes, it’s hanging there.
Woman: That’s a cowboy hat.
Boy: A brown cowboy on the door!
