Education Exercises focuses on the basic vocabulary and structures needed for social interaction and everyday experiences. There are puzzles and quizzes to reinforce your learning so you feel confident using different texts about education.

pass / fail — pass = to succeed in a test · fail = to not succeed in a test — opposites
mark — the grade or score you get on a test (British English)
rubber — a small object used to remove pencil marks (British English word for an eraser)
coach — can mean a person who trains a sports team, or a long-distance bus
college / university — both are places to study after school — college is often for practical courses or younger students, university offers full degree courses

Vocabulary Tip
Group education words by type to help you remember them — subjects you study, classroom objects, places (library, college, university), and result words (pass, fail, mark, test). Remember that maths is short for mathematics — both are correct, but maths is more common in everyday speech.
