In Part 5 you match each day to one activity. There are more options (A to H) than days, so some activities are not used — don’t be tricked by the extra options, and tick off each day as you go.

Part 5: Emma’s Plans
You will hear a girl talking to her dad about the things she is going to do next week. What is she going to do each day? For each question, choose the correct answer, A to H.

Dad So, Emma, what have you got planned for next week?
Girl Well, it’s going to be quite busy actually. On Monday, I have my piano lesson after school. Mrs Johnson said we’re going to start learning a new piece.
Dad That sounds good. And what about Tuesday?
Girl On Tuesday, I have that dentist appointment you booked for me. It’s at three o’clock, remember? You said you’d pick me up from school early.
Dad Oh yes, that’s right. I nearly forgot about that. What are you doing on Wednesday?
Girl Sarah and I are going to see the new film at the cinema. Her mum is taking us after school and then we’re having dinner at her house.
Dad Nice! And Thursday?
Girl Well, you know how you always complain that I never help in the kitchen? I thought on Thursday I could help you make dinner. Maybe we could try that pasta recipe we saw on TV?
Dad That’s a great idea! I’d really like that. What about Friday?
Girl I have my art class. We’re starting to paint landscapes and I’m really excited about it. The teacher said we might go outside if the weather is nice.
Dad Sounds like you have a fun week ahead of you.
