Describing family: a big family · an only child · twins · the youngest/oldest child
Vocabulary Tip
Group family words by generation to help you remember them — grandparents (grandma/granny, grandpa), parents (mother, father), your generation (brother, sister, cousin), and your children (son, daughter). Remember that grandma and granny are two words for the same person — granny is just more informal.
