For parents and guardians

If your child uses ESLeschool, this page explains what it is, what we record, and the choices you have.

What ESLeschool is

ESLeschool is a website where children practise English through quizzes and activities. As your child practises, we record their scores so they — and you — can see how they're progressing.

If your child is under 13, we ask you first

Before we record anything for a child under 13, we email you for permission. The email contains an Approve button. Until you approve, we do not record your child's progress.

The approval link expires after a couple of weeks. If it expires before you approve, your child can ask us to send it again.

What we record

  • Your child's name and email address.
  • Their date of birth — used to check their age and apply the right protections.
  • The quizzes and activities they complete on this site, and the points they earn.

How we use it

We use this information only to track your child's own learning on this site and to show their progress. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with other companies for their own use.

Progress emails

From time to time we send you a short summary of your child's progress (your child can set how often in their profile). You can stop these at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any summary.

Your choices

  • Withdraw consent at any time — reply to any of our emails or contact us, and we'll stop recording your child's progress and remove their progress data.
  • Ask to see the information we hold about your child.
  • Unsubscribe from the progress emails while keeping the account active.
  • Delete the account — your child can delete it themselves from their Profile tab, or you can ask us to do it. This permanently removes the account and all of its progress.

Advertising

We take care with any advertising shown to children and limit it for young learners.
