Exam Tip
In Part 5 you match each person to one costume, and some options (A to H) are not used. Watch the ‘last year’ costumes — they are distractors, not this year’s answer (Harry was Batman last year but is Spiderman now; Amy was a rabbit last year but is a witch now).

Part 5: Halloween Costumes
You will hear a boy talking to his mum about what his friends are going to wear to the Halloween disco. What are his friends going to wear? For each question, choose the correct answer, A to H.
You now have 10 seconds to look at Part Five.
Mum Matt, are you going to the school Halloween Disco next week?
Boy Yes, but I’m not sure what to wear.
Mum So, what are your friends wearing?
Boy Maria always reads books about magic, so she’s going to dress as a character from Peter Pan.
Mum As a pirate?
Boy No, mum. She’s going as Tinker Bell, the fairy. Kim is going to dress up as a pirate.
Mum He will make a perfect pirate. What about Harry?
Boy Well, you know how he likes superheroes. Last year he was Batman, so he’s going to dress up as Spiderman this year.
Mum What about Amy? I remember, she dressed up as a rabbit last year.
Boy She is going to dress up in a witch costume, and her sister, Sam, is going to wear the rabbit costume this year.
Mum So, what about you?
Boy I’m thinking about wearing either a dinosaur or a clown costume.
Mum A dinosaur costume will be difficult to dance in. I think a clown costume will be better.
Boy Yeah, you might be right, Mum.
