B1 Preliminary Writing

Set 5 of our practice exercises Part 1 of the Cambridge English B1 Preliminary Writing Section. The theme for this exercise is about going to the cinema.

In the B1 Preliminary Writing Part 1, you are asked to read five sentences and the rewrite them. Part of each new sentence is written for you. You must complete the new sentence so that it has the same meaning as the first sentence. All five sentences are about the same subject. Use no more than three words for this task.

For example:

The name of the book is The Dog on the Bend.

The book ……….. called The Dog on the Bend.   Answer = is

For each question, complete the second sentence so that it means the same as the first. Use no more than three words for this task.
