Set 1 of our practice exercises Part 3 of the Cambridge English B1 Preliminary Writing Section. This is an example of how to write an informal email replying to a friend asking for help to organise a special birthday party for his sister, Maria. It is set at an Intermediate level of English or B1 on the CEFR Scale.

Please note for the real test, it isn’t a gap exercise. You are asked to write an informal  email using about 100 words.
