Getting to Know You
This unit, Getting to Know You, is all about introductions. You’ll learn how to talk about yourself, your age, your hobbies, and where you come from. You’ll meet your classmates, practise new words, and start speaking and writing in English with confidence.
What You’ll Do
- Say your name, age, and where you’re from.
- Talk about your likes and hobbies.
- Write a short introduction.
- Understand simple texts and videos about other teenagers.

Hello! My name is Lucia and I’m 13 years old. I’m from Valencia, a beautiful city in Spain. I live with my parents and my little brother. I go to a local school and I’m in Grade 7. My favourite subjects are Art and English because I love drawing and learning new words. After school, I like listening to music, chatting with my friends, and watching funny videos online. At the weekend, my family often goes to the beach or we have lunch at my grandparents’ house. I want to meet new friends and learn more English!
