Key Words
- cupid — a mythological figure often shown as a baby with wings, a bow and an arrow — the Roman god of love
- patron saint / St. Valentine — Valentine’s Day is named after St. Valentine, a patron saint connected with love
- custom — a tradition — something people usually do (not the same word as “customer”!)
- sweetheart / darling — both are affectionate words you can use for someone you love
- symbol — something that represents an idea — a red rose and a heart are both symbols of love
