A1 Listening Part 3 Favourite Places in Town (Transcript)
Miss Brown is telling Tom about the people in her family and about their favourite places to visit in town. Which is each person’s favourite place?
Tom: Hello, Miss Brown.
Miss Brown: Hello Tom… Oh, I’m happy today! I visited my grandma. She loves the park! She sits on the bench and feeds the ducks every morning. She walks around the lake, too. It’s her favourite place in town!
Can you see the letter G? Now you listen and write a letter in each box.
Tom: Where does your daughter like going, Miss Brown? She’s in my class at school.
Miss Brown: That’s right! She loves the library… She goes there every Saturday morning. She borrows lots of storybooks. She likes the children’s section best. Do you go to the library?
Tom: Yes, I do!
Miss Brown: I’ve got a son too.
Tom: Really?
Miss Brown: Yes, he’s older than you. We take him to the sports centre every week. He loves playing basketball there with his friends. That’s his favourite place to visit!
Tom: Yeah! I go there as well on Saturdays to play football.
Miss Brown: My sister loves the pet shop! She visits it every weekend. She looks at all the different animals. She talks to the cats and dogs there. That’s where she likes to go most.
Tom: Wow! She’s so lucky.
Miss Brown: Yes, she knows all the animals’ names. The shop owner is very kind to her.
Tom: Do you have any brothers?
Miss Brown: Yes, I have one brother.
Tom: Where does he like going? The computer shop?
Miss Brown: No, not really. He loves the market! He says the fruit and vegetables are fresher than the supermarket. He bought me some delicious oranges the other day. He goes there every Saturday morning.
Tom: That’s interesting!
Miss Brown: My cousin is really nice too. She’s very artistic.
Tom: Where does she like to go?
Miss Brown: She loves the art shop! She buys paints and brushes there. She bought new colors there last week. Do you like art shops?
Tom: Yes, I do, but I think I prefer the pet shop or sports centre.
Now listen to it again.
