Blockbusters is a free online quiz game based on the classic hex-grid show. Answer definition clues to claim hexagons and build a path connecting your side of the board. It’s a superb whole-class English vocabulary game, and it accepts both British and American spelling.
Step by step
- Choose your mode: whole class, pairs, or a solo Gold Run.
- A definition clue appears for the letter on a hexagon.
- Answer with the vocabulary word that matches the clue and starts with that letter.
- A correct answer claims the hexagon in your colour.
- Connect your sides of the board before your opponent connects theirs.
Tips to win
- Plan your path — sometimes blocking your opponent matters as much as advancing.
- Listen to the clue’s key words; they point straight at the answer.
- In Gold Run, work quickly along the shortest route across the grid.
