WordQuest is a free online English vocabulary game inspired by Wordle. A hidden word is waiting in the grid, and you have six guesses to find it. Every guess gives you clues through colour, so you narrow down the answer letter by letter — and because each word comes from real graded vocabulary, you’re learning useful English while you play.
Step by step
You’ll see an empty grid — one row per guess, one box per letter. Type any real English word of the right length and press Enter.
Watch the tiles change colour: green means the letter is correct and in the right place, amber means the letter is in the word but somewhere else, and grey means it isn’t in the word at all.
Use those clues to choose your next guess, keeping the green letters and moving the amber ones.
Solve the word within six guesses — the fewer guesses you use, the more points you earn.
Each round has several words to solve in a row. Finish them all to complete the round.
Tips for solving faster
Open with a word that uses several common letters and vowels — it tests a lot of the alphabet in one go.
Pay close attention to amber tiles: that letter belongs in the word, just not where you put it.
Don’t reuse grey letters — they aren’t in the word.
