Part 3: FitLife Gym

You will hear a fitness centre manager talking to new members about the facilities.

Manager Welcome to FitLife Gym, everyone! I’m here to show you around our facilities. Let me start with some important information about our opening hours. We’re open seven days a week. During weekdays, that’s Monday to Friday, we open at six in the morning and close at ten in the evening. At weekends, we open two hours later, so that’s eight o’clock in the morning.

Now, about our facilities. The swimming pool is on the second floor – you can’t miss it because there are large windows looking out over the city. It’s heated all year round and perfect for both exercise and relaxation. Next to the pool, we have our health café where you can get fresh fruit juices and healthy snacks.

The main gym area is here on the ground floor. All our equipment is new, and we have personal trainers available if you need help. If you want to book a session with a trainer, you need to do that at reception. A one-hour session costs thirty-five pounds, and it’s really worth it, especially when you’re starting out.

For those of you interested in group classes, we offer yoga, aerobics, and dance classes. Most of our classes are in the studio upstairs, but yoga classes are held in the quiet room on the ground floor. The yoga instructor is called Helen, and she’s been with us for eight years. She’s excellent.

One more thing – don’t forget to bring a towel with you when you come. We don’t provide towels, but you can buy one from our shop if you forget. The shop is next to the reception desk, and they sell everything from towels to sports drinks.

That’s about everything for now. Enjoy your workout, and if you have any questions, just ask at reception.

Now listen again.

That is the end of B1 Preliminary Listening Part 3. You now have two minutes to check your answers.
