N: Part 2. Listen and look. There is one example.
Teacher: Good morning, children. Today we have a special guest visiting our class who works for NASA and has been to space twice. Her name is Dr Martinez. So, who wants to ask her something?
Student: Hello, Dr Martinez. What’s your job?
Woman: I’m an astronaut, and as Mr Thompson said, I work for NASA and have had the incredible experience of going to space.
N: Can you see the answer? Now you listen and write.
Student: I know your name is Dr Martinez, but what’s your first name?
Woman: It’s Sofia. That’s S-O-F-I-A. Everyone is welcome to call me by my first name.
Student: And how many times have you been to space, Sofia?
Woman: I’ve been to space twice. Once to the International Space Station and once on a mission to the Moon.
Student: Oh, that’s amazing! But wasn’t it scary being so far from Earth?
Woman: Yes, it can be, but you train for years to prepare for those moments.
Student: So, how old were you when you decided to become an astronaut?
Woman: I decided at an early age. I was 8 when I first looked through a telescope and saw Saturn.
Student: Really? So, do you have a family?
Woman: Yes, I’ve been married for 10 years. We first met at space camp, funnily enough.
Student: Do you have any children?
Woman: Yes, I have two children, both boys.
Student: And what do you do when you’re not in space?
Woman: I train constantly. My family loves science experiments. My kids love it when I show them how things work in zero gravity. And today I’ve brought some freeze-dried astronaut ice cream for you all to try.
Teacher: You are so kind, Dr Martinez, and thank you so much for visiting our class today.
Woman: It’s been a pleasure.
