Teacher: Good morning, everyone. I have some wonderful news! I’m going somewhere really special during the school holidays. Ask me some questions about my plans, then write down what I say. OK, who would like to start?
Student: Oh, Miss Brown, may I ask you a question?
Teacher: Of course, Emma. What would you like to know?
Student: Where are you planning to go, Miss Brown?
Teacher: Well, I’m going to visit the exciting city of Tokyo in Japan.
N: Can you see the answer? Now you listen and write.
Student: That sounds amazing! What are you going to do in Tokyo?
Teacher: Great question, Jack. I’m going to visit temples and try authentic Japanese food, because I love learning about different cultures.
Student: And where will you be staying?
Teacher: I’m going to stay in a modern hotel in the heart of the city, not too far from Ueno Park.
Student: What’s the name of the hotel?
Teacher: It’s called the Sakura Hotel.
Student: Is that spelt S-A-K-U-R-A?
Teacher: That’s exactly right. Did you know that ‘sakura’ means cherry blossom in Japanese?
Student: I didn’t know that. So, who’s going to go with you?
Teacher: I’m going to go with my best friend from my yoga class. We’ve always wanted to visit Japan together.
Student: How long are you going to stay in Tokyo, Miss Brown?
Teacher: Well, I’m going from Saturday to the following Saturday, so that’s seven days and six nights.
Student: And… are you going to fly to Tokyo?
Teacher: Yes, we’re going to fly, because it’s too far to travel any other way from here, and my friend is paying for the plane ticket.
Student: We hope you have a safe trip, Miss Brown.
