N: What trip did Tom’s class enjoy the most last year?
Tom: Miss Brown, our class trip is next Friday! I’m so excited!
Miss Brown: That’s wonderful, Tom. Did you enjoy last year’s trip?
Tom: Yes! We didn’t go to the zoo because it was too expensive.
Miss Brown: Where did you go instead?
Tom: We went to the farm first, but not everyone enjoyed that. However, we all liked the science museum best of all. It was amazing!

N: One. Where is Tom’s class going this year?
Miss Brown: This year we’re going somewhere completely different, Tom.
Tom: Are we going to the castle near the river?
Miss Brown: No, that’s too far to travel in one day.
Tom: What about the wildlife park? That sounds exciting!
Miss Brown: No, we’re going to the beach! We’ll study the sea animals there.
Tom: Wow! I love the beach!
N: Two. What will Tom not bring to eat?
Tom: What should I bring for lunch on the trip?
Miss Brown: You can bring sandwiches if you want. They’re easy to carry.
Tom: I was thinking about bringing some fruit instead. Apples are my favourite.
Miss Brown: That’s healthy! What else?
Tom: I think I’ll pack some biscuits too. They’ll give me the energy to walk on the beach.
Miss Brown: Good choice, Tom.
N: Three. What will the weather be like?
Tom: Do you think it will be sunny on Friday?
Miss Brown: I hope so! But the weather report says it might rain.
Tom: Oh no! Will we still go if it’s raining?
Miss Brown: Yes, but it’s going to be very windy by the sea, so bring a warm jacket.
Tom: I’ll pack my raincoat too, just in case!
Miss Brown: That’s very sensible.
N: Four. What will Tom do first at the beach?
Tom: What’s the first thing we’ll do when we get there?
Miss Brown: Well, we could start by collecting shells and stones.
Tom: That sounds fun, but I’d really like to look for crabs in the rock pools first!
Miss Brown: Good idea! That’s perfect for our science project.
Tom: And after that, can we build sandcastles?
Miss Brown: Of course! We’ll have time for lots of activities.
N: Five. How will they travel to the beach?
Tom: How are we getting to the beach, Miss Brown?
Miss Brown: Well, we could take the train, but it stops too many times.
Tom: What about walking? Some of us have strong legs!
Miss Brown: It’s much too far to walk, Tom.
Tom: So, how will we go?
Miss Brown: We’re taking the school bus. It’s the most comfortable way to travel with the whole class.
