You will hear a student asking the teacher about a trip to Scotland.
N: Part 2. Listen and look. There is one example.
Teacher: Good morning, everyone. I have some wonderful news! I’m going somewhere really special next weekend. Ask me some questions about my plans, then write down what I say. OK, who would like to start?
Student: Oh, Mr Johnson, can I ask you something?
Teacher: Of course, Emma. What would you like to know?
Student: Where are you planning to go, Mr Johnson?
Teacher: Well, I’m going to visit the beautiful mountains in Scotland.
N: Can you see the answer? Now you listen and write.
Student: That sounds amazing! What are you going to do in Scotland?
Teacher: Great question. I’m going to go hiking, because I love being outdoors and taking photographs.
Student: And where are you going to stay?
Teacher: I’m going to stay in a cosy cottage right beside a lake.
Student: What’s the name of the cottage?
Teacher: It’s called Lakeview Cottage.
Student: Is that spelt L-A-K-E-V-I-E-W?
Teacher: That’s exactly right. Did you know you can see the mountains reflected in the water from there?
Student: Wow! So, who’s going to go with you?
Teacher: I’m going to go with my best friend from university. We go on adventures together every year.
Student: How long are you going to stay in Scotland, Mr Johnson?
Teacher: Well, I’m going from Friday evening to Tuesday morning, so that’s four days and three nights.
Student: And… are you going to take the train to Scotland?
Teacher: No, my friend is going to take his car, because we want to stop at different places along the way and see the countryside.
Student: We hope you have a safe trip, Mr Johnson.
